Global Ocean Acidification Observing Network – How it will work and why it is important
Thursday 16 January 2014
Room 5+6 (level 3)
The purpose of the Global OA Observing Network (GOA-ON) is to promote the worldwide collection, collation and interpretation of information on ocean acidification, its ecological impacts and socio-economic implications. The initiative was officially launched in St Andrews, Scotland in July 2013. Panelists representing the sponsoring groups will discuss their role in the GOA-ON and its importance for the GEO societal benefit areas and for the Blue Planet and Ocean Carbon Observations activities. We will also invite new participants to join the network, especially from under represented regions.
