Global Initiative for Cholera Early Warning: Linking GEO, Health and the Post-2015 Millennium Development Agenda

This event will specifically launch the Global Initiative for Cholera Early Warning, and highlight other health related early warning activities in the GEO Health and Environment Community of Practice (CoP). The event will be designed to provide a CoP overview, and their role in both the Climate and Post 2015 Millennium Development Goal Agendas. This event will focus on integration of the existing global capacities of multiple partners to create a system of systems for cholera early warning, and will highlight the initial pilot projects. Key partners include the World Health Organization, World Meteorological Organization, Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (South Africa), International Center for Diarrheal Disease Research, (Bangladesh), Fraunhofer IOSB (Germany), Netherland Institute of Technology, and the Berg-en-dal Group of Cholera Reference Scientists.
