We welcome two new experts from Japan and ESA
Mr Robert Koopman from the European Space Agency and Mr Koki Iwao from Japan have joined the Secretariat as seconded experts.
Robert Koopman joined the Secretariat in April for an initial period of two years. He holds an MSc in Astrophysics but turned his attention to Earth observation in 1994. He has specialized in specification, validation, implementation and operations for data processors for space-borne atmospheric sensors. He currently supports Data Management activities and GEO’s relationship with CEOS.
Koki Iwao joined the Secretariat in April for an initial period of two years. He holds an MSc and PhD in Civil Engineering, with an emphasis on global environmental studies. He specialized in the development and validation of global datasets, and he has been engaged in a GEO Grid project at the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST). He currently supports the Architecture and Data Committee. |
