Call for Contributions to Work Plan receives strong response
The Call for Contributions to the GEO 2009-2011 Work Plan issued by the Secretariat on 13 January generated a strong and positive response that promises to foster increased partnerships and collaboration around GEOSS implementation. Some 30 GEO Member governments and Participating Organizations pledged new contributions to specific Tasks and sub-Tasks.
New contributors responding to the Call include Australia, Belgium, China, the European Commission, Germany, Greece, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, Nigeria, Norway, Pakistan, Portugal, Slovenia, South Africa, Spain, the UK, the USA, CEOS, EEA, ESA, GCOS, ICSU, IEEE, IOC, ISPRS, GOOS, UNOOSA and WMO.
The GEO Secretariat is currently compiling this information, which will be reflected in the mid-March updates of the Task sheets. The Secretariat will then work with Leads and Points of Contact to effectively integrate the new contributions into ongoing activities.
